Dr. Chintay Shih brings a wealth of expertise in the semiconductor industry to AsiaTech. He is currently a Visiting Scholar at Stanford, as well as a Special Advisor to Taiwanˇ¦s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). He also serves on the Board of Directors for TSMC and Vanguard Semiconductor. In the past, Dr. Shih has held numerous high ranking positions as the President of ITRI, the Science and Technology Advisor of Taiwanˇ¦s Executive Yuan, a Member of the Science and Technology Committee of the Presidentˇ¦s Office, Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Intellectual Property Association, and the Managing Director of the Taiwan Electrical and Electronics Manufacturerˇ¦s Association.
Dr. Shih has also been recognized by many organizations for his outstanding achievements. He was honored as a fellow of the IEEE in 1992, received the Engineering Medal of the Chinese Institute of Engineering in 1995, received the First Medal of the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 2003, served as President of the Chinese Institute of Engineers between 1998 and 2000, and served as Chairman of Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association between 1996 and 2000. Dr. Shih holds a B.S. degree from National Taiwan University, an M.S. degree from Stanford University, and a PhD from Princeton University.
