Anson Chen is Corporate Vice President of Motorola's Global Software Group responsible for 17 software development centers (4800 developers) worldwide. The key development programs range from mobile handset software, automotive solutions, network infrastructure software for service provider and enterprise networks, to software engineering tools and test technologies.
Prior to joining Motorola, Anson served as Vice President of Research and Development for Netscreen/Juniper's Security Products Group, responsible for the development of NetScreen's entire product line (ASICs, HW, SW) for its firewall, IPSec and SSL virtual private network (VPN) and Intrusion Detection and Prevention technologies and Anti-Virus/Threat-Prevention solutions. Before joining NetScreen, Anson served as vice president and general manager of Cisco's Network Management and Services Technology Group, responsible for Cisco's Policy Networking and Network Management architecture, products, solutions and partnerships. During his 12-year tenure at Cisco, Anson has built and led world-class teams in the development of operating systems and protocol software (IOS which runs across Cisco¡¦s routing and switching product lines) and various network infrastructure products for both enterprise and service provider environments. Prior to Cisco, he was part of a team that built VISA's global financial networking infrastructure. Mr. Chen also played lead engineering roles in Unix networking software development at Convergent Technologies/Unisys.
